Samenvatting

Many field studies of accidents have identified head and face impacts with the steering wheel as a predictable occurrence for the driver restrained by a lap-diagonal belt. The purpose of this paper is twofold. Firstly it examines the frequency of such head strikes and secondly the nature of injuries resulting from such contacts are described.
