In 1972 are 67 accident black spots in Köln studied. In one year 990 accidents were registered at these accident black spots. Recommendations are presented for the improvement of layout at junctions, the installation of traffic signals, the alteration in cycle time of these signals, the priority scheme, the introduction of one-way traffic, and the improvement of vision. It is estimated that the number of accidents at these spots can be decreased with 25%
