Samenvatting
This paper sets out how Transport Scotland delivers road safety throughout Scotland. Statistics show the accident rates are falling, and resulting injuries and deaths are for the most part, going down. However Transport Scotland believes the rates are still too high and they have produced this action plan, based on research covering issues such as driver behaviour, accident black spots, and highway infrastructure. They also look at managing a safe network, strategy and investment implications, design and construction issues, and road safety stakeholders' concerns.
