The examination of the site "clustering" of specific accident types can lead to the recognition of a class of site specific problems which by the appropriate treatment of relatively few locations can lead to a sizeable overall reduction of that accident type.This paper examines the site "clustering" or "non- clustering" of particular accident types on four functional classes of road in metro Melbourne using the 1981 accident data.
