Samenvatting
In this article the emphasis is placed on the new improved light sources which are discussed with regard to their spectral properties and the vision mechanism under road lighting conditions. Based on results of road lighting experiments, revised light distributions are suggested for lanterns. Attention is drawn to the use of high mast lighting for complex junctions, high speed roads, civic centres and suburban areas.
