Samenvatting

The relationships between pedestrian activity and transportation systems are looked at. A methodology is proposed in which the frequency of the walking trips relates to the walking environment. Pedestrian accommodations and impedances arising as a result of transportation systems affect the quality of the walking environment. A procedure for measuring pedestrian needs and accommodations system improvements is developed.
