This study represents an initial step towards establishing a framework for conducting a systems analysis for the planning of a parking system. A Central position in this simulation model is taken up by the allocation model, based on the assumption of minimum total disability for all parkers. Iterative parking programs are developed and evaluated and the results tested with information from e.g. origin destination trip tables, so that assumed and estimated traffic impedances in the traffic flow converge as far as possible. Such a simulation model should be set up before planning the main routes and transport systems, but after investigating the travel demands by the public. Variables and constraints in the model are briefly discussed.
