Study of driver characteristics using driving simulator considerations on difference in accident avoidance performance due to age.

Many studies have been done recently to clarify the driving capability of elderly drivers. Elderly drivers are suffering from mental and physical deterioration, but also have appropriate judgement supported by their long driving experience. This study observed the effects of these characteristics when facing an accident, using a driving simulator. (Author/publisher)
