Samenvatting

This paper presents an attitude study to the usage of in-vehicle navigation system interacting with various network configurations. The in-vehicle navigation system provides significant interface between advanced travel information system (as subsystem of the Intelligent Transportation System) and the general auto drivers. Generally this system provides road condition report, navigation and route guidance (recommendation) functions, which may alter the user's travel (most significantly route choice) decisions. An attitude survey of more than 200 subjects (with 127 valid observations) was conducted and followed by a series of statistical analysis to extract and identify the key factors affecting the perception of the presence of the network configuration characteristics. In addition, distribution of information patterns/contents responded by the subjects under various network settings were compared and presented in this paper.
