Samenvatting

Eye position of the Japanese driver is measured. Eye range contours of various seatback angles were drawn and were compared with SAE Recommended Practice J 941 contours. In side view the eye position for Japanese drivers is somewhat to the rear and lower than that of American drivers. In plan view, the minor axes of eyellipses of Japanese drivers are shorter than those of SAE eyellipse.
