The report contains three related investigations: 1) a determination of the demography of restraint system use; 2) a comparison of the incidence and severity of injuries for restraint system users and nonusers; and 3) a comparison of the incidence and severity of injury from those various areas in the vehicle that were contacted by the occupants.
