Samenvatting

In light structures exposed to intense human crowd activities, the problem of excessive human-induced vibration has become increasingly evident. Inthis paper, the two states of human-induced vibration: static and dynamic, will be analyzed in great details. The static and dynamic loads have their own properties and are analyzed with the double degree-of-freedom parallel model method and the multi-support input time-history analysis method respectively. Using finite element analysis, a sample analysis is providedand discussed. The models and analysis in this paper lay a foundation foranalyzing the safety and reliability of pedestrian bridges with heavy traffic.
