Samenvatting

Differences in drivers visual perceptions of geometrically similar high- and low- accident curves on rural roads are investigated. Driving experience and the ability to recognize high-accident curves were found to be correlated. Driver, vehicle, and environmental characteristics are examined and used to develop an accident causation model based on the theory of signal detection.
