Summary report on driver education.

Efforts of the NHTSA in the area of driver education are summarized. A discussion of the history of research on driver education, and current research and demonstration project being conducted by NHTSA is included. Emphasis in current programs should also be placed in areas as 1. encouraging the use of occupant restraints 2. discouraging the use of alcohol, and 3. compliance with the 55 mph speed limit and other energy efficient driving techniques.
