Samenvatting
"SUPPER SMART SIGNS" offer a powerfull means for increasing freeway traffic flow. The approach is based on the idea of providing carefully chosen dynamic information to drivers in order to modify their behavior in ways which will smooth and speed traffic flow, and if possible, reduce accident rates. This paper outlines the approach conceptually, and then enumerates research tasks which will need to be accomplished if a SUPPER SMART SIGN demonstration project is to be implemented.
