Samenvatting

Since 1989 a large transport model, called POLYDROM, has been developed for the Swiss Ministry of Transport, where it is used for all studies at national level. The use of modern software tools like the programming language ADA and the WINDOWS environment led to solutions where many capabilities could be added (and still are) without increasing the complexity of the system. POLYDROM is now being extended to handle dynamic problems, where the demand varies according to daily variation curves and the supply can be inhomogeneous over time. Two examples, one with a park and ride facility, the other with road pricing, will illustrate the new capabilities of the model. (A) The German title of this article is: Nachfrage und Bedarf : Neue Möglichkeiten für die Verkehrsmodelierung.
