This annual survey presents summaries of active Canadian research programmes for 1993 in the field of surface transportation. Whereas in past years the survey focused on road research, this year's survey has been expanded to include Canadian rail research. Organizations surveyed included the federal and provincial transport ministries, universities and private firms. The projects are arranged according to the subject categories of the International Road Research Documentation (IRRD) system of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). (A)
