Recessed pavement markers veere found to outlast raisedpavement markers by at least a factor of two in Georgia.It was also found that over 95 of the reflectorized pa-vement markers of the recessed variety installed by theGeorgia Depmtment of Transportation to reduce the fre-quency of run-off-the-road crashes on share curves remai-ned in place for up to five years and up to ADTs of4,700.
