A study was made on the comparative status of the laws of the several states and the uniform vehicle code governing the revocation of drivers licenses. It covers legislation enacted in the states between 1961 and 1965. Long-term efforts to promote a practicable level of uniformity among the states has been only partially successful. Since the code is designed to the best prevailing practices for the guidance of the states, the deviations from it provide a basis for keeping the code up to date. Pressures for getting better results from traffic safety efforts are mounting. They could be the motivation needed to bring out greater concern for uniformity of driver licensing among the states. Selected court decisions are included.
