Samenvatting
Registrations of traffic conflicts between bicyclists and motor vehicles and pattern of traffic behaviour were performed at 18 intersections with 3 different types of traffic controls. It was found that 30% of the cyclists do not use bikeways and this group was 5 times more involved in conflict situations than cyclists who do use the bikeways. The car drivers follow the "Yield right of way" rules better at priority signed intersections than at uncontrolled intersections where the right hand rule governs.
