The syndrome of fat embolism : analysis of thirty consecutive cases compared to trauma patients with similar injuries.

Thirty patient with the fat embolism syndrome is presented. Age and sex distribution, trauma mechanism and others are analyzed. In spite of improved diagnosis and treatment fat embolism is still a severe complication particularly in patients with multiple injuries.
