Samenvatting
A description of a public transport system "Demand - Actuated Road Transit"(DART), is given. A computer assisted central post receives calls by telephone from customers, and directs a fleet of mini-buses by radio. DART-buses function as a bus line during peak-hours and as a cheaper taxi during off-peak hours. Economic aspects of the model are discussed, and comparisons are drawn with a bus, taxi and private car. The DART system offers taxi-service at a much lower price. An introduction scheme is added.
