Samenvatting
This paper describes an initiative taken by the Norwegian Public Roads Administration to improve the quality and interoperability of toll collection systems in Norway. The initiative includes standardisation of on-board units and corresponding roadside equipment, agreement on contractual principles between operators and a common specification for administration systems used by toll operators. The paper focuses on the process and objectives related to the common specification of a new administrative system including the influence on organisation and operation of Norwegian toll collection systems.
