Samenvatting

A machine adaptable technique is reported for the nonambiguous designation of a vehicles exact position within a road system and of a selected route to proceed to any other point in the system. This technique can be used to address location and vehicles for any highway communication application. Supported by a method for nodes designation, the technique provides: a machine language for record keeping, a mathematical tool for traffic control and assignment and for discrete address of all vehicles in any communications application, and a machine language and a manual-visual method for route following. This can be illustrated by using a simple node designation method for a limited network and a prepared route selection matrix.
