Wheelchair users which want to make use of transport by car or by public transport, want to be transported in their own chair for understandable reasons. While for vehicle occupants on the front seat of a car the use of safety belts is mandatory, no legal specifications for the safety of wheelchair users exist. Different methods in use to anchorage a wheelchair in cars and buses are discussed. It is concluded that more research to such systems is wanted.
