On the temporal distribution of peak traffic demands : a model and its calibration.

As details of the individual optimising model have been pu- blished, the focus here is on defining a bottleneck situa- tion on the transport network to articulate the theory and on conducting sensitivity analyses to simulate the effects of traffic management schemes. Implications for current trans- port engineering and planning practice are suggested.
