Samenvatting

There are occasions where the use of pneumatic tube sensors, usually the cheapest and simplest form of vehicle detection for short term applications, is not practicable. A method of installing temporary inductive loops, at a comparatively low cost compared with conventional slot-cutting procedures, is described. A temporary loop installation can be quick to install, resulting in a saving of traffic lane closure time. Known problems, life expectation for this type of sensor, and precautions advised in the handling of the material are also included. (A)
