In 2008 and 2009 a large scale field operational test (FOT) was undertaken in the Netherlands, which tested anti accident systems (AAS) on over 2.400 commercial vehicles. The size and the numerous stakeholders and participants has lead to a complex organizational scheme necessary to achieve a successful format. This paper goes into the details of organizational processes of the FOT. The FOT has led to some promising results regarding use of AAS in practice. The results are briefly discussed and the paper concludes with a list of relevant learning points for future projects alike.
