Theme I: Behaviour of the driver. Drivers' perception and traffic engineering.

A general way of classifying driver behaviour is a hierarchical organization of the driving task at three levels: strategical, tactical and operational. Some examples of traffic engineering measures based on the driver's perceptual and information processing ability are presented.
