The theory and practice of car ownership forecasting.

Existing work in car ownership forecasting is examined and current trends in its development are discussed. A number of commonly adapted approaches to car ownership forecasting is examined and the inconsistent results which accrue when insufficient attention is paid to the need for a sour theoretical framework are emphasized.
