It is concluded that the danger of collision with a lead vehicle is greater 1) the higher the optic velocity detection threshold, 2) the faster the closing velocity and 3) the harder the lead vehicle is braking, particularly when it is braking to stop. What seems to be basically required is a signal system that warns the driver of a situation wherein it is necessary for him to brake.
