Some factors concerning speed-formation were studied. Hypotheses were formulated about the influence of 1)motive, 2) phase of a travel and 3) a combination of motive, phase and acquaintance with a route, on speed-formation. Observations were made in four Dutch communities. These observations were used in a single-factor analysis. From this analysis one cannot conclude that the hypotheses have to be accepted.
