Samenvatting
It is proposed that the human being intuitively works with a time budget, in such a way, that on the average a constant fraction of the available time is used for trip-making. Some observations, that support the hypothesis are mentioned. The consequences for theory, practice and evaluation are discussed. The most important consequence would be that travel time can never be saved only transferred.
