By the traffic engineers more and more precise requirements are wanted to the technical aspects of the equipment for traffic control. At the one side the control at a certain point is becoming more complex, at the other side a central traffic control is more and more installed, while also an always bigger flexibility is required. These requirements are difficult to realise with hard-ware input, therefore data processors with soft-ware input are being used.
