Samenvatting
From accident data the author derived statistics on to what extent tourists are involved in road accidents. It appears that foreign tourists (mainly Germans in this case) are far less involved than residents (of Middelburg in the province of Zealand). This leads to the conclusion that road safety campaigns should he organized at a local level. Improvements of the road network for tourist traffic only do not seem to be justified. The summoning policy of the local police is not unfair to foreign visitors.
