Tollstar MIS for the South African toll industry.

Brief details are given of the TOLLSTAR electronic toll collection system that has been installed in over 100 toll lanes in South Africa. Toll lane equipment allows for a variety of methods of payment including an Automatic Vehicle Classification system which ensures auditable toll collection. The TOLLSTAR Management Information System uses relational database technology splitting the project into smaller manageable parts. Details are given of the operation of the system to give immediate financial results and the invoicing of drivers.
