The 'Tourism for All' campaign begun in 1990 aims to introduce facilities for disabled people into mainstream tourism. It is hoped that special information will be included in mainstream literature and that with improvements in facilities eventually no specialised information will be required. The English Tourist Board (ETB) has produced guidelines for hotels and self-catering accommodation on how to make their premises more accessible. The ETB is also working with transport operators and the owners of leisure attractions such as museums. A leaflet is available which outlines low-cost measures which can be taken and discusses staff training. Work in the field of transport is described and includes a door-to-door guide to accessible transport available at 700 travel agents and Tourist Information Centres and involvement with the `Access to the Skies' committee including the recommendation for wheelchair access to long-term airport parking. It is also hoped to extend the British `Orange Badge' parking concession for the disabled scheme to other countries in Europe.
