Samenvatting
In the U.K. in 1971 injuries to pedestrains amounted to 38% of the total road fatalities and 26% of all seriously injured casualties. Fatal injuries most frequntly derive from impact with the ground. The influence of changes in the front-end shape of cars on the trajectories of pedestrians has been demonstrated. One way of retaining the pedestrian on the hood of the car is presented and discussed.
