Traffic bollards and low level traffic signs.

Traffic bollards provide a valuable contribution to road safety. This leaflet discusses the advantages of traffic bollards in certain circumstances, whilst recognising that their over provision can have an unduly negative impact on streetscape and energy consumption. It provides advice on the use of traffic bollards and associated signing for roads with a speed limit of 30 mph or lower. It also covers low level signs sometimes used as an alternative to traffic bollards. It does not cover bollards used to control access or to prevent footway parking/over-running. (Author/publisher)
