Tarnoff identifies the presence of data errors inherent in the operation of a computerized traffic control system. Hanscom presents data collection techniques that were employed to evaluate sign combinations to warn motorists for potentially icy bridges. Roberts reports that diagrammatic signs can reduce stopping and backing maneuver rates under certain conditions. Leuthardt discusses the theory and fundamentals of progressively timed signal systems.
