Samenvatting
Low- volume rural (LVR) roads, those carrying 400 vehicles per day or less, carry only about 8 percent of the total united states travel, yet they make up about 2 /3 of the mileage of public highways. Because they are the largest single class of highway it is important that guidelines be adopted for traffic control and operational safety in order to achieve a rational balance between maximum safety and minimum cost for LVR roads. This paper discusses the "handbook of traffic control practices for LVR roads".
