Samenvatting
A traffic control and information system for an urban expressway network is described. The system collects traffic data from vehicle detectors and calculates congestion length and travel time. This information is automatically displayed on various information boards and broadcast on roadside radios. Japanese Ministry of Construction and OECD/Road Transport Research Programme held the seminar on "future road transport systems and infrastructures in urban areas" in Chiba, Japan on 4th - 6th June 1991 sponsored by the Japanese organizing committee.
