The level of the traffic control system performance was improved by the installation of a new computer and by using a larger number of equipment such as vehicle detectors, variable message signs, etc. Further aims of the system were its expansion and development with a view to dealing with the future construction of new routes, future urban transportation policies, and its entire automatic operation.
