Continuing the efforts undertaken to inform drivers of the traffic conditions on its motorway network, Autoroutes du Sud de la France (ASF) has made information available to its clients on the world-wide Internet network, enabling them to be well-informed regarding their trips. In many fields of activity, the Internet media has swiftly transformed people's habits, and enabled huge progress to be made in information sharing. The transport industry is also largely affected by the technological advances symbolised by the arrival of Internet. This is demonstrated by the services offered by rail and airline companies, which have been part of the Internet scene since its early days. For many years, ASF has based its information transmission policy on seeking to develop quality, and up to-date information, easily assimilated and accessible to its clients (such as the travel times on interurban motorways), and in using the most efficient and modern transmission media (such as its own 107.7 FM radio station and RDS-TMC). In this context, it is only natural that ASF now concentrates its efforts on providing quality highway traffic information distribution via Internet, given that this media has become more and more part of the daily life of companies and private individuals.
