Traffic management for special events.

This paper deals with traffic management procedures and techniques developed by the authors and others for a number of annual and ‘one off’ sporting and cultural events that have taken place in and around Cape Town, South Africa over the past few years. The paper highlights the similarities and differences between the systematic approach taken by the professional team to each of these events.
