The Department for Transport (DfT) commissioned a desk-based research project in early 2011 to explore the range of existing traffic management techniques for cyclists at urban signalised junctions in Great Britain, Europe and around the world, and to understand their potential applicability to the UK. The purpose of the project was to gather the evidence necessary to make informed decisions about the future of cyclist provision at signalised junctions in Great Britain, understanding the relevant factors which need to be considered and to develop a series of indicators which will be used to recommend and prioritise identified options. This document forms the key deliverable for the project, and reports on project findings. (Author/publisher)
