The Review by Shanthi Ameratunga and colleagues (May 6, p 1533) is an excellent contribution to the global traffic safety literature. However it lacks discussion on sports utility vehicles (SUVs). The increasing threat posed by SUVs to other road users is likely to reverse some of the hard-earned improvements that have been made in road safety over the past decades. (Author/publisher)
