Samenvatting
The study deals with the number and risk of traffic accidents in the dark and their variation in time and space and according to other factors. The study was commissioned by the roads and waterways administration (rwa). The research material consists of rwa's road register data about traffic accidents and vehicular mileage on public roads in 1978 - 1981. During this period the police reported 49921 traffic accidents on public roads. 15777 or 32% of these occurred in the dark.
