Samenvatting
Traffic congestion is discussed in regard to the following variables: road width, length of journey, peak hour traffic, travel time, journey speeds, work trips, and highway design. One suggested solution to traffic congestion is to charge people for the congestion that they cause. This might result in greater use of public transport encouraging longer peak travel periods. The alternative is discussed of redistribution of homes and work places.
