An investigation was performed in order to estimate the frequency of different road conditions in different parts of the country for the positive and negative consequences of the use of studded tyres. This information is important when estimating the total need and benefit of studded tyres, as a large number of investigations have shown that the use of studded tyres leads to better road holding only on surface of ice and packed snow.
